Who is eligible to file a supplemental claim?

A Veteran might opt to file a supplemental claim if they possess fresh and pertinent proof linked to a formerly rejected claim for VA disability compensation or pension advantages. Fresh and pertinent proof denotes evidence that was inaccessible during the time of the prior claim decision, possibly altering the VA's verdict regarding a claim.

Veterans can also file a supplemental claim if they seek a review of their claim in light of recent laws, such as the newly enacted PACT Act.

When filing a supplemental claim for a recently presumed condition owing to legislation like the PACT Act, it might not be mandatory to submit new and relevant evidence, although it is strongly advised.
